Initial Consultation
During the initial consultation you will be introduced to the staff members that will guide you in your weight management journey. Stefani Heisler, a nationally certified physician assistant, will meet with you to discuss and evaluate your health history via a thorough medical evaluation. It is recommended that you bring a copy of the results of any recent lab work you have had to this initial appointment.
Once you have been determined to safely enroll in the weight management program, you will meet with the manager of the program, Shannon Burson. Shannon will discuss and educate you about the program and provide you with the written information you will need. You will have a complete body composition analysis at this appointment which includes measurement of your body weight, body fat, and waist circumference. You will also be given a supplemental injection at this appointment which helps to support your immune system, fat metabolism, and energy level.
You will be provided with a list of essential supplements you may either purchase through our office or at your local vitamin store of choice. We do not prescribe medications like appetite suppressants as a part of our program. It is our goal to set you up for life long success in managing a healthy weight through proper education and behavior modification.
Weekly Office Visits
To ensure you the greatest success you will be required to come in for weekly visits. These visits will include body composition analysis, a supplemental injection, nutritional counseling, and evaluation of “homework” if applicable. Homework may include a nutritional log, exercise journal, sleep patterns and or any other task that could improve upon your success.
Why Weight Management?
Having been in the aesthetic medicine specialty for the last decade, I have come to appreciate the role education plays in the compliance of each and every patient. This definitely holds true in any successful weight management program. Once you understand the what, why and how of weight management you will be more dedicated to reach and maintain your goal.
Unfortunately, our country as a whole is geared towards chronic disease management rather than prevention and promotion of healthy living. The undisputed number one factor in the development of chronic disease states and poor health in general is what is known as silent inflammation. The exciting news is that silent inflammation can be controlled, reduced, and or eliminated through a specific nutritional plan, exercise, and the use of certain essential supplements.
Need more convincing? The very best way for you to “age gracefully” is to maintain a healthy body composition and participate in regular exercise. The so called fountain of youth is truly as simple as that. Simple once you are given the knowledge to achieve your goals which is our commitment to you via this program.
