Decreasing stress is an essential component to living well. I am fully aware of this fact. However, knowing it and actually living it are two very different things. So I did some research (ok I “googled” it) and I found a “stress less” plan I could realistically implement. Weeks later I am here to share these tips with you because… they work!
- Color. Color can make all the difference in your overall mood. My top pick to capture a sense of tranquility is Benjamin Moore’s Quiet Moments.
- Home Improvement Projects. I couldn’t believe how happy it made me to fix all of the small things I usually ignore. Things like tightening loose cabinet handles, recaulking baseboards, leveling all of the wall art… you know, those things!
- Declutter, Clean, and Organize. Two words on this one… Container Store! Caution: before you venture in, have a plan, trust me on this one.
- Scents. Take the time to find a home scent that makes you happy! My fall go to and all-time favorite is Yankee Candle’s Apple Pumpkin.
- Photos. I like to frame landscape pics from our travels through the years. It is a great way to recall fond memories.
- Eat at a Table. I am guilty of being “too busy” to sit and eat. Writing that sentence makes me laugh, I mean that is ridiculous. No more of that, I now make sure we all sit to eat.
- Do Something Nice. I like to surprise my neighbors with fresh baked cookies (ok, my husband makes them) or pay the toll for the car behind me. I enjoy making someone else smile.
- Flowers. I believe fresh flowers equals happy, happy, happy!
